Vision

After doing interviews and general research on the site in the district of Kreuzberg we marked out following points:

The interesting thing is that while there is such a vibrant nightlife there is also a huge number of families in the district of Krwuzberg and both of them are able to coexist peacefully together.

The interesting moment was that while there is such a vibrant nightlife culture in Kreuzberg there is also a huge number of families and both of them are able, in a way, coexist peacefully together.

So we wanted to play with idea of representing this combination of “water and butter”, “day and night” within our project using program and architectural elements.

One of the ways in which we could manifest this duality of the neighbourhood is by trying to bring those two extremely different lifestyles under one roof. So, is there a way to combine kindergarten with a night club? Well, technically there is. The problem was that what we wanted to do was quite a sensible combination of things, as you can imagine. Which meant that in the end we had to separate two programs so that everyone stays content.

In order to still stay reasonable and sustainable as much as we can, we decided to do one building that will be essentially separated into two buildings above the ground but connected underground. And the following programs would help us to do so.

Day programs (open during the day):

Night programs (open during night):

Software used: AutoCad, Revit, Rhino, Photoshop

Team: Xenia Klimova, Eric Dragomir

Instructors: Jeanne-Françoise Fischer, Ruben Jodar, Lukas Staudinger
